HIGH DESERT FIDDLERS COUNTRY MUSIC JAMBOREE - June 18, 19, 20, 2009

The High Desert Fiddlers' Annual Country Music Jamboree is held at the Harney County Fairgrounds in Burns, Oregon.  Burns is 130 miles east of Bend and 130 miles west of Ontario, Oregon off I-84. 

This family-based event is a three day jam of fiddlers, banjo players, guitar players, autoharp players, harmonica players, singers and others, too (including an accordian or two!)  Everybody plays!

The event is free, although we do pass the hat to cover expenses.  RV Parking and camping is available at the fairgrounds, as well as numerous good motels in town (click on Harney County Info).  Merchants and restaurants also invite musicians to come to downtown Burns to jam, and there are workshops conducted by various musicians, too!  

This event is a warm up for fiddlers who are heading to Weiser, ID for the National Fiddle Contest, so you're bound to hear some darn good fiddlin' as well as other great musicians! 

There's plenty to see in this part of Oregon, including Steens Mountain, Malheur Wildlife Refuge, Round Barn Visitors' Center and Diamond Craters among other attractions!  See our Harney County Info link.
